Robinho and Berbatov - Spot The Difference!

Has-been rocker and famous Bitter, Noel Gallagher (whose band Oasis* last made a decent album about a decade ago not that we’ve seen any reduction in his ego) has been mouthing off about Manchester City’s new-found wealth.

Gallagher reckons all us United fans are now bricking it, fearful that City are on the march and will soon supplant us at the top of the English game.

He even jests that:

“Every litre of petrol that a Man United fan buys will be going into City’s transfer kitty.”

Quite apart from the fact that he’s a City fan and therefore instantly worthy of contempt, Gallagher’s predictably dry but unfailingly unamusing observations make us loathe him even more.

Someone should perhaps drag him off cloud nine for a bit and remind him of the calibre of player they’ve managed to attract in Robinho who blabbled out this classic at a press conference when asked about his transfer to City:

“On the last day, Chelsea made me a great proposal and I accepted it,”

To which a reporter countered, “You mean Manchester right?”

“Yeah, Manchester, sorry!” answered Robinho.

City fans had better hope their new charge displays more presence of mind of the pitch than he does in press conferences.

When Sky Sports showed Mark Hughes meeting with Robinho in London on Tuesday morning, the Brazilian’s expression seemed one of embarrassed bemusement: so much so that we wonder if he actually knew who the f*ck Hughes was and who he’d signed for.

It all bodes well doesn’t it?

-Still I’m sure the £160K a week will help focus his mind….

Contrast, Robinho’s clueless gaffes with the measured words of Dimitar Berbatov when asked about his move to United:

“I am 27 now, I am at the biggest club in the world…”

“If I want to play for the money, I would accept the Manchester City offer or Chelsea,”

“The red shirt is the really big thing for me. I want to play for the biggest club in the world.”

City might have managed to get a big name with their ‘throw it against the wall and see what sticks’ approach, but it’s clear that United have got a player with superior motivation, despite City’s cheeky and very much deliberate attempts to unsettle us.

* Maybe the Arabs thought they’d be getting exclusive right to the exploitation of Noel’s band as well when they bought City - after all they love Oases out there, don’t they?

Berbatov 27 past it and 27goals last 2 seasons for spurs moves to the biggest supported club in the world with nice Credit crunch Debts.

Robinho 24 still improving 18 goals last 2 seasons for Real Madrid. Moves to the richest club on the planet give it 3 years and you wont be able to bid for anyone unless we have decide we dont want them.

Good luck you will need it.

Talk about press gaffs, is Wayne Rooney Einstein no he kicks a ball for a living and who could forget brainless Beckham, and we all know that comments are taken out of context you loopy tw**s. Can anyone remember Cantona’s padded cell press conference where seagulls were stalking him the crazy Frenchman and has anyone heard Scholes talk jesus chrrrrrrrist. Oh and dont forget Fergie what a delight crying about Real Madrid tapping up Ronaldo “the fastest diver in the west” then he goes out and does exactly that with Berbatov talking to the player WITHOUT AGREEING A PRICE WITH THE CLUB, naughty naughty Taggart the hypocrite. I will finish off by saying I take my hat off to United for all the things they have achieved over the years and especially under Fergie but dont be having a dig at City because we have come into money you bitter lot because I have lived in Manchester all my life and have been told for most of that time that we are potless by people that dont even go to the match and cant even afford to buy a season ticket hahahahahahahahahahaha CITY ARE THE RICHET CLUB IN THE WORLD GET USED TO IT BITTER RAGS.

  15. jiggalo on September 4th, 2008 4:54 pm

“Had a quick look at there new owners background , its based on property and not oil, so Noel i wont feel to bad putting the old go go juice in” .

Where did you look at the facts??????/

Its the government(Royal family) of Abu Dabi. They have 10%of the worlds oil are the richest of the 8 states of the UAE(United Arab Emirates) and there oil revenu is around $500m a day.

They have made $61biilion in oil since January so they own real estate cause they have nothing else to spend their OIL money on.

So make sure you use super unleaded next time you fill up 5p a litre more will make all the difference lol.

Noel Gallagher and his mong brother are fuck1n wank3rs - i.e. no different from your average city fan.

fuk knows why all these city retards are getting so giddy -remember it’s city - it’s bound to fuk up. Besides all this arab money is just the start of the curve - how long before the dubai royal family, the qatar royal family and the saudis want their piece of the pie? Then you’ll be back where you well and truly belong - amongst the also rans - and forever in our shadow.

  18. The Gherkin on September 4th, 2008 5:01 pm

How the hell does Berbatov’s egotism make him a better human being than Robinho?

  19. jiggalo on September 4th, 2008 5:14 pm

    Vinny.

You can add up the wealth of the other UAE countries and they still dont make up the wealth of this group.

so even if Dubai Quatar come in then we will still have more cash than you.

And who wants to buy something that is already winning where is the fun in that. would you buy Ferrari or mclaren if you had the money to set up a F1 team that would beat everybody from scratch no you would do it all by yourself and say you did it with no ones help.

So yes we are giddy and thats because for the first time in a long time the boot is on the other foot and we can bully you if we want and when we want and there is nothing you can do about it.

  20. paul on September 4th, 2008 5:14 pm

I knew this would happen. The comments above are all very funny but blinkered all the same. Any TRUE comment has to come from an open mind.

I have opened mine and looked from both sides.

United have been superb for the last 15 years. Players want to go there, they have paid £20m for a number of players. Some fantastic, some not so. They have won trophy after trophy. Abramovic came along and stopped that temporarily and they were perilessly close to United last year. They have bought success but Abramovic has his limits.

The Arabs do not have any limits, they don’t even expect a return. They are not doing it as a business more a PR excercise for their country. They are uncomplicated people (unlike Shinawatra, The Glazers, Abramovic) and will suceed in making Manchester City a sucess. No doubt whatsoever.

The problems lie with people’s perceptions of City. Up til now the poor relations and the ‘other’ Manchester club. All other premiership fans will be jealous of their abilty to compete via a stroke of luck.

Manchester United fans have enjoyed City’s fruitless 32 years. Now they are shitting themselves. I don’t believe them if they say they are not. All of a sudden they are going to have it rammed down their throats and it is what ALL football fans have been waiting for.

  21. jiggalo on September 4th, 2008 5:15 pm

Oh and we own 5% of ferrari too before anyone comments :)

  22. BlueBro on September 4th, 2008 5:33 pm

Ouch, someones lost their sense of humour!

Researching our owners in order to dismiss a joke? C’mon, there’s no shame in being our feeder club!

Lighten up pal, it’s all good fun, and you know we’ll balls it up anyway! Then again, Frank can make the bad buys ‘disappear’ and we’ll start again!

looooooool u stupid oasis idiot the guys that bought your little pathetic excuse for a football club are from the U.A.E they hardly sell any oil all the money is from real estate and it’s the Saudis that sell all the oil so every penny YOU pay for gas goes to all us UNITED fans in Saudi, just for you to keep in mind i’m sure no one out of britain and thailand has ever heard of man city. Do you honestly think that just because of your new owners you’re going to be better than us!!!!!!!!!!! loooooooool no wonder you haven’t made a proper album with a brain like that i don’t expect you too either loooooooooooool stupid idiot

  26. Ben Dover on September 4th, 2008 8:36 pm

This is your chance City! Maybe finally in a couple of years, and after you have bought yourself a decent team, you can win the league cup :-)

  27. Happy To Be Blue on September 4th, 2008 8:48 pm

Who cares who is the better human being? Robinho is the MUCH better footballer. Believe me.

It’s nice to see all you rags starting to worry. I hope all the Arabs buy all the other clubs in the Prem and then your credit crunch debt will be even more worrying for you.

  28. Happy To Be Blue on September 4th, 2008 8:51 pm

Incidentally, for all you ‘intelligent’(?) rags. The royal family of Abu Dhabi have made the vast majority of their TRILLION dollars from OIL.

    You clowns.

When we were younger so much younger than today

But now those days are gone we’re not so self assured
The arab came and flashed the cash and opened up the door

And now our lives have changed in oh so many ways
Our grip on football has vanished in the haze
And every now and then we feel so insecure
we know we can’t compete with city any f*ckin more

Help us if you can we’re feeling down
And we would appreciate another crown
help us pay our debts, we’re on the ground
Won’t you please please help us

When we were younger so much younger than today
We never needed money we had it all our own way
But now those days are gone we’re the little fish in town
while we are downing in our debts City will take our football crown

help us if you can we’re feeling down
even though most of our fans are from London town
We’ve had our glory days but now theyre gone
Won’t you please help us, help u—-s

Its really simple you can try buy all the best players in the world but there’s only one team in Manchester, Berbatov showed football isnt all about money its about history and heritage!!! City can dream on with their wish list Ronaldo(dream move is Madrid),Fabregas(will stay at Arsenal or go back to Spain before he joins city), Torres( even at Atletico showed he loved Liverpool) and Messi and Kaka are at their dream clubs so not a chance of you getting any of them! City might as well keep after the money grabbing players, I’m sure Anelka is up for it!!!!! Robinho didnt even know what club he signed for and he didnt even know there were 2 teams in Manchester!!! No need to worry for United fans because it takes 50 years to gain the sort of respect United have City wont get any real quality players for a long time!!!!

    NEWS FLASH…

There was a report of a break-in last night at two Manchester based Football Stars houses.

Ryan Giggs of Manchester United reported that 2 Champions Leagues Medals, 10 Premier League Winners medals and several FA and League Cup Winners medals had been stolen.

Richard Dunne of Manchester City reported that a Toaster and Kettle were stolen from his house.

Money makes a lot of people arrogant, stupid and ugly. Money apparently makes supporters of the suddenly rich arrogant, stupid and ugly. Citeh can buy Ronaldinho and what ever piece of dung they can get their hands on. But they can never, ever buy sheer class, because even if the player they get could be called “class” the club and its supporters don’t have even the slightest hint of it

  34. JPF on September 5th, 2008 11:06 am

We’ll see who finishes higher in the league this season, I’ll bet you a pound to a penny it ain’t Cideh……

  35. the boy on September 5th, 2008 2:19 pm

Giddy Ciddy. Lets just wait and see what happens eh berties?

You threw £200 million on the last day of the transfer window, yet you only managed to sign one player. And that clueless fucker didn’t know who you were and was desperate to leave Madrid, to the point where if Altrincham had enough money he would’ve gone there.

I fail to see how you’re suddenly the biggest club in the world? Biggest floodlights, widest pitch maybe, biggest club in the world? Not as long as I have a hole in my arse. Just remind yourselves of your quality performance against Denmarks 2nd biggest team.

In ‘76 the fact is true,
    A trophy was won,
    By a team in blue,
    It’s been a long time,
    Since that day,
So we’ll sing ‘em a song,
    That they fucking hate,

    32 YEARS F*CK ALL
    32 YEARS F*CK ALL
    32 YEARS F*CK ALL
    32 YEARS F*CK ALL

  36. Malteser on September 5th, 2008 2:27 pm

City might be the richest but United are the biggest by far. It’s success and history that makes a club big. Show us your’s $hitty. Who the f*ck is Robinho? Berba anytime. Look at Chelsea. They bought the best and still the CL eludes them. So they won a couple of PL trophies. For all the milions they spent it’s not acceptable. The same will happen to $hitty with one exception. They won’t win anything any time soon and their skirted owner will just sell up and go just like that Thai thief you had before.

  37. Anonymous on September 5th, 2008 4:02 pm

does anyone notice the difference between chelsea and man city, chelsea were already in the champions league, city are not and probably wont be this year or even next, they have no appeal, atmosphere drab in the stadium, no history, no champions league, no nothing, the liverpool and arsenal sqauds are still so much stronger than citys, does anyone watch la liga? if you do you will see robinho is the most overrated player ever, he is lazy cannot cross and shoots whenever he can, you may say oh sounds like ronaldo then well no ronaldo actually scores when he shoots ans gets a number of assists and all this bullshit about berbatov being a worse player um well ill have you know man united now have the 3 most creative players in the league in berbatov rooney and ronaldo, the stats show these 3 deliver the most goald and assists than any other possible combination of players, UNITED FOREVER

  38. Anonymous on September 7th, 2008 5:10 pm

    Your living in Dreamland Reds

Giggs and scholes are past it, nanni, Hargreaves, Carrick & Anderson are average at best. Wes Brown is a donkey, Gary Neville is a Donkey, your goalkeeper is on his last legs

If Rooney and Ronaldo are injured you won’t win anything. Your squad lacks depth. You have Fletcher, Evans, Oshea etc as replacements, where is the class in that?

You have a good team but a poor squad and you are going to get found out this season

Robinho is a class above any player in your team and will help us remove 6 points from your total once again this season.

Money Money Money - Always sunny in a City World!
