Tottenham To Have The Last Laugh? Berbatov To Sign For…CITY!?

Could Sir Alex Ferguson’s worst nightmares be unfolding before his very eyes?
Reports shortly after 2.30pm suggested that Spurs have accepted a bid from Manchester City for the transfer of Dimitar Berbatov. City boss Mark Hughes confirmed the club had lodged a bid for the Bulgarian striker and he is awaiting a response from Berbatov’s agent to discuss a move to Eastlands.
City revealed earlier today that the Abu Dhabi United Group Investment and Development (ADUG) had agreed to take on a majority stake in the club, with Thaksin Shinawatra staying on as ‘honorary’ board member. The deal has yet to be ratified and at present only constitutes a ‘memorandum of understanding’ prior to the completion of due diligence.
Dr Sulaiman Al-Fahim board member of ADUG and likely to be the new head honcho at the Council House should the deal go through, told the BBC that his group’s pockets were “very deep” and likened the Middle Eastern consortium’s spending power to that of Roman Abramovich.
ADUG plan to bring “the best football players in the world to City.” It would appear that one of these players is Berbatov. The bid accepted by Spurs is likely to match or exceed the £28 million offer United are rumoured to have brokered.
No doubt Daniel Levy would be literally laughing all the way to the bank should he manage to recoup his full valuation for Berbatov and deliver a mortal blow to ‘arrogant’ United.
But would Berbatov seriously entertain signing for the Blue Moonies? No amount of new money into Wastelands will guarantee the prize the Bulgarian craves in the short term: Champions League football.
Still - scary thought, isn’t it?

in the words of keegan “i would love it” if he signs for city but just like with keegan, it won’t happen. he’ll turn down city. still, great laugh on transfer day.
Ha Ha Ha - ramos
with one fatal blow the spurs board would kill three bird the player , agent and Alex Manchester united big head ……… well done spurs the of PL will salute you if Berb go to Manchester City
I am gay
you manure fans have gone all quiet, whats up?
yes you are idd.
And alot of the money haggling that has gone on between united and spurs cant be placed only only fergies shoulders.
The glazers after all are the ones with the cash and must allow fergie to spend.
And as for mark hughes he should be ashamed of himself.
Manchester United made him the star he became and seems he forgets this. He should go home and burn all Manchester United Memorabilia in his possession and back heel himself in the particulars for betraying his once beloved club.
Hmmmz - Mark Hughes is quoted as saying: “I’m as stunned and excited by this as the fans are.”
What does this tell you? Take as long as you like…
How many strikers have you got since Saha has gone? apart from the handsome brothers and Campbell who has scored in the Championship?
man u support seem to very short memories the last season at united Mark Hughes wass treated extremely badly by alex … playback time, remember in all sport good thing come to end … man coming 6th in alex last season
i hope spurs sell him to city in words of one mr kevin keagan “i’ll just love it “
We might buy berbatov from ya, he will fit in the dressing room just nice….he uis gay isn’t he
I’m a Spiurs fan, and i’ld loveit if The City take Berbs off our hands. He has bhurnt his bridges with us now, and after Woody said what he did on Friday it doesnt seem like the olayers want him around either. He is a great player, but a bit of a tosser. Pay him loads and he will do you very well. And best of all old red nose wont get him.
Honestly, i think its bad enough for Berbs to want to leave for Old Trafford. Now it just seems that players are starting to view city as a better prospect than spurs? If Berbs leave for city, then well done Daniel, u’ve just proven a point. Well, it isnt surprising that players don’t want to play for a team with just 1 point from the 1st 3 games, no?
Ouch!
Await Spurs’ fans enlightenment, please?
Spurs bought Corluka this morning.
IMVHO, the only reason that Citeh are still in the Wafer cup.
So who’s feeding who?
